The History

Sri Lanka  know as "The Pearl of the Indian Ocean"  boasts of a culture and civilization from the 5th century BC.

From the 16th century Sri Lanka had been a colony  of  the Maritime Powers(Portuguese, Dutch and British).

After independence in 1948 there has been a resurgence of Buddhism and hostility towards Christianity.

Since 1983 a terrorist war has been tearing at the very fabric of this country.
